1940 Ford Tudor — All-Steel Street Rod, 283/TH350, Heidts Front, Vintage A/C
1940 Ford Tudor Sedan — fully-built, all-steel street rod finished in blue over a gray cloth bucket-seat interior with rear bench. Powered by a 283 small-block Chevy with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake and a 750 CFM Holley four-barrel, backed by a Turbo 350 automatic and a GM 10-bolt rear with 3.73 gears. Coated headers feed aluminized Flowmaster dual exhaust with stainless tips out the rear.
Chassis upgrades are what make this '40 a real driver: Heidts front end with tubular A-arms and adjustable coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, Front disc brakes, and rear air shocks. A Walker radiator with a flex fan plus a thermostat-controlled high-flow electric fan handles cooling. The engine bay is fully dressed with billet valve covers, breather, pulleys, alternator, water pump, and A/C compressor.
Inside: vintage A/C blowing cold with working heat and defrost, Painless wiring with a modern fuse panel, working VDO gauges including fuel, power windows, power trunk, power cowl vent, tilt steering, electric remote door poppers, third brake light, Pioneer CD sound system, and a custom interior with matching trunk trim. All glass is new and tinted with new felts and rubbers. All chrome is new. All hinges, latches, and hardware are chrome plated.
Showing 11,925 miles, believed to be miles since completion. Everything functions at the time of listing.
This is the build buyers are looking for when they want to drive a pre-war Ford to events instead of trailering it — modern brakes, modern steering, modern A/C, all-steel body, and a small-block drivetrain anyone can service. Located in Orwigsburg, PA. Stock #856256. Call to schedule a visit or request additional photos.
